The Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSiRA) is a statutory body established in terms of the Private Security Industry Regulation Act, 56 of 2001.
We are mandated to regulate the private security industry by promoting compliance with the law, setting and enforcing industry standards, and enhancing professionalism and accountability.
Through effective regulation and stakeholder collaboration, we contribute to a safer South Africa.

Register and grade private security businesses and security officers.
Set Standards
Set, promote and enforce standards for training and qualifications.
Inspect & Monitor
Inspect, monitor and evaluate compliance with the Act and applicable standards.
Enforce
Investigate and take enforcement action against non-compliance.

Promote professionalism, ethical conduct and good corporate governance.
